Conscious sedation

Conscious sedation is a mixture of nitrous oxide (N2O) and oxygen (O) that is administered by means of a nasal mask at tailored concentrations as needed.
The analgesic and sedative effect is felt after only a few breaths, causing a sensation of relaxation and ease. The patient always remains fully conscious and alert throughout the treatment. At the end of the treatment, pure oxygen is administered for five minutes, meaning that the patient can leave the dental office unaccompanied and even possibly drive a vehicle.

Conscious sedation is suitable for both adults and children.It is compatible with many types of treatment: fillings, root canal care, surgery, implantology.Even uncomfortable retching, for example when taking impressions, can be practically eliminated with conscious sedation.Conscious sedation is an extremely safe method as the mixture inhaled is:

inert;

Is not metabolized by the body;

non toxic;

does not alter the patient's protective reflexes such as swallowing and coughing, which remain ever present.

There is no allergy to laughing gas;
